A combination of curvilinear bands of program and the bold use of color transformed a series of office spaces in adjoining buildings into one new office for Architectural Engineers Inc in downtown Boston. Programatic spaces such as conference rooms, offices, meeting spaces, and the kitchen, are carved into sweeping curved masses, while open offices and large work tables make use of the negative space between.  The masses envelope the divisions between the adjacent buildings, creating the feeling of one original continuous space.  The layout of these masses from the front to the back of the buildings allows for the most daylight penetration into the open office spaces between.
