The existing brick and timber building at 80 Bridge Street offered an ideal 2 story backdrop for Paytronix’s vibrant and collaborative office culture. We structured the new design elements as a strong contrast to this rough and visually textured, industrial post and beam shell, by incorporating smooth faceted and angled faces that detach and float free of the existing brick and wood building features. The majority of the enclosed functions of the office are located in the center of the space, which prioritized access to perimeter daylight for the workstation areas. Additionally, by eliminating enclosed private offices, we are able to further Paytronix’s goal of a bright, open and non-hierarchic work environment. The second floor focused on leisure and group activities with special meeting rooms and breakout spaces that are contiguous to a expansive kitchen and lounge area which doubles as a presentation and meeting space for the entire company.
