Summer Street
Boston, MAFull renovation of an existing lobby in Fort Point, Boston. As the first building across the bridge from South Station, the building owner wanted a statement space, one that would be attention grabbing and contemporary. To do this, the building’s existing wood beam structure was exposed, and paired with an installation of color changing, back lit, metal mesh with sculptural corian ribbons. A new faceted desk and soffit are set against a backdrop of red brick and the existing windows looking to the water and downtown Boston. The overall feel is one of something very new set against the historic materiality of old Fort Point.
